Through the Siaya Green Initiative, we work with young people, schools, farmers, and community groups to promote tree planting, seedling production, agroforestry, and environmental stewardship in Siaya County.
Our approach combines practical skills development, community nurseries, planting activities, and continued learning to support environmental restoration that can last.

That is why our work emphasizes community participation, practical knowledge, and long-term responsibility for the trees and nurseries established through our projects.
From Seedlings to Sustainable Restoration
Building the Foundation Through Make Siaya Green Again
In 2025, Potential X-Factor implemented Make Siaya Green Again, the first phase of the Siaya Green Initiative, in collaboration with Let's Plant e.V.
The project supported seedling production, tree distribution, community nursery development, practical agricultural training, and environmental restoration activities.
Tree planting activities involved schools, households, farms, and community spaces.
The project also introduced bamboo propagation as part of its wider agroforestry activities, creating a foundation for subsequent work focused on bamboo and fruit trees.

Bamboo and Fruit Trees for the Next Phase
Building on the experience of Make Siaya Green Again, Siaya Green Initiative 2026 introduced plans to expand bamboo and fruit-tree agroforestry.
The January 2026 concept note proposed
- 1,000 bamboo trees.
- 400 fruit trees.
- 23 nursery beds across 13 sites.
- Training and mentorship involving schools and community groups.
- Improved water access and monitoring systems.
These are original project targets, not confirmed planting achievements.
